Latoya McKelvin- Founder & Resident Pilates Guide
Latoya is a lifelong mover and movement specialist. She has always practiced some form of movement meditation, even before she knew that’s what it was called. Her somatic journey began at a young age in the realm of dance. Her passion for dance took her to the halls and stages of Temple University, where she also danced with Philandanco.
Upon moving to San Diego, Latoya transitioned to teaching dance and sharing the rehabilitative and healing properties of mindful movement modalities such as Pilates and Yoga. She is a BASI Certified Pilates Instructor and RYT-200 Yoga Instructor.
Latoya is the Founder of Movement Matters Collective, a fitness and wellness collaborative that's all about inclusivity, fun, and wellness! The MMC team has cultivated a safe space and provides culturally affirming wellness services to people from all walks of life, including adolescents, seniors, athletes, and new movers.
