We are a collective of Movement Educators who are well-trained, credentialed, and experienced in our area of expertise. But most of all, we have a passion to help you thrive!

Latoya McKelvin- Founder & Resident Pilates Guide

Latoya is a lifelong mover and movement specialist. She has always practiced some form of movement meditation, even before she knew that’s what it was called. Her somatic journey began at a young age in the realm of dance. Her passion for dance took her to the halls and stages of Temple University, where she also danced with Philandanco.

Upon moving to San Diego, Latoya transitioned to teaching dance and sharing the rehabilitative and healing properties of mindful movement modalities such as Pilates and Yoga. She is a BASI Certified Pilates Instructor and RYT-200 Yoga Instructor.

Latoya is the Founder of Movement Matters Collective, a fitness and wellness collaborative that's all about inclusivity, fun, and wellness! The MMC team has cultivated a safe space and provides culturally affirming wellness services to people from all walks of life, including adolescents, seniors, athletes, and new movers.

Kourtney Jones - Resident Yoga Guide

Kourtney is a dynamic soul who embraces the paradoxes of life. Not only is she the Founder and CEO of House of InnerG, but Kourtney is also the resident Yoga Guide at Movement Matters Collective.

She believes humans were divinely created from love, and Kourtney’s superpower is deeply connecting with people. She embodies wellness in mind, body, and soul, advocating for health, vitality, and collective care.

Kourtney holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice cum laude from California Lutheran University (CLU), is a certified Yoga Instructor, and is a dedicated Astrology Consultant. She currently volunteers as a youth ministry teacher at her church. 

As a former NCAA collegiate athlete in basketball and track & field, Kourtney brings her drive to excel to her work supporting C-Level executives in various industries.

Kourtney Jones is a remarkable individual driven by spirituality, wellness, and human connection, inspiring others to embrace love and personal growth on their unique journeys.

Precious Mizell - Resident Zumba Guide

Precious Mizell has been charting her own path as a licensed Zumba Instructor since October 2019. She started teaching virtual classes at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic in March of  2020. Three years later, she continues to connect with students nationally and internationally through her virtual class platform. 

She challenges herself by hosting a simultaneous virtual and live in-person class. Precious is delighted to collaborate with Movement Matters Collective to offer Zumba Classes.
